Sorry for the delay of the show, I’ve been sick 
BUT I’ve got what you’ve been waiting for, the finale of my weekly series leading up to the 2009 BK Hip Hop Festival and this show is repping the ladies! First up I spoke with rapper Blessroxwell who although is not performing at this year’s hip hop festival is a true talent that deserved some shine nonetheless. Then I’m introducing you to one of the two female performers at this year’s event Eagle Nebula and I’ll be debuting their music on the show as well. Since I’m under the weather I decided to skip my usual intro/outro (no one wants to hear a sick person talk) and give you a few musical gems from some females that are currently MIA in the music world that I would LOVE to see make a complete comeback (not just a single here and there or a few features I mean an entire album). Enjoy.

As we continue on…THE WARM UP 2 THE BURN DOWN PT. 2! For this installment of my series I’m speaking with Philly rapper Nyle (he’s hilarious) about his unique style (he often performs with his live band), cooking skills, his college music series and his goal for his BKHHF performance (it involves jumping on people). Plus I’m catching up with Harlem’s own rapper Donny Goines who broke down the relationship between his 1st album “Minute after Midnight”, his latest album “The Breakfast Club” and his next album, him spending 3 years in the Navy before getting into rap and how he manages to still make money (legally) in this struggling music industry. Of course I’m hitting you with music from Nyle and Donny Goines but also from another group gracing the stage at the BKHHF called Keys n Krates. TRUST these guys are amazing and I can’t wait to see them do what they do live!

WELCOME TO PART 1 OF MY LEAD UP TO THE BROOKLYN HIP HOP FESTIVAL ON 6/20 “THE WARM UP TO THE BURN DOWN”! Normally I do shows on a monthly basis but for this special series I’ll be doing a brand new show EVERY WEEK leading up to the “burn down” on June 20! Each show will feature interviews with up and coming artists taking the stage at this year’s festival as well as music from all of the performers.
For the 1st installment of my series I’m talking to the man that makes the BKHHF possible executive director Wes Jackson about the new additions to this year’s festival, how he was able to make the festival bigger and better despite the crumbling economy, his pick for this year’s next big thing in hip hop and how YOU can help keep the festival going. I also caught up with a dope group of emcees, dj’s and producers brought together through their talent, love for music and employment at NYC’s Fat Beats record store, The Brown Bag Allstars. I’ll also be debuting 2 of their joints on the show as well as music from some of the other performers at this year’s festival.

For this all new show I’m speaking with playwright, musician, actress AND niece of the 1960’s civil rights activist Angela Davis, Eisa Davis! We’re discussing her new play “Angela’s Mixtape” making its world premiere in NYC this month, her childhood, growing up being the niece of Angela Davis, the importance music plays in her life and so much more. If you’re in the NYC area this month make sure to check out “Angela’s Mixtape” at The Ohio Theater.
As always I have a new artist spotlight, this time from a singer named Melanie Fiona. She hails from Toronto Canada, her album “The Bridge” is dropping this Spring and I’m debuting her song “It Kills Me” on the show.

What’s good? I have to say this is by far the best show I’ve ever done! You should already know what this new show is all about. I’m speaking on the victory of our next President Barack Obama! As you know I’ve been on the fence with the whole election, its process and the government, but this is history and I can honestly say that I believe a change may come.
